The Lord protected us all from sickness, Praise God! So far we are all doing well!
Everynight, the messages were great! The missionaries we had in were all from OBC and were just great! I can't tell you enough that things went very well. Our people attended everynight, there were some that couldn't make it but for the most part all were there.
The last night, Wednesday night we had a catholic man that came and recieved Jesus as Saviour! Praise the Lord!
Again thank you for praying, it was because of prayers that made it what it was! Thank you!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! WE have such a GOOD GOD! Thank you Lord for daily loading us with your benefits!

Hope everyone is well and doing good. I'll write again soon!

In Need of Prayer!

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to inform you of our situation. I know one thing for sure, is that the devil is really fighting us here. I specifically ask you all to please pray for us and our family.
Bro. Kent is feeling better but I ask you all to pray for the rest of us. We have missionaries coming in two days. I have limited strength right now.
As I type this, I know it sounds like I don't have a GREAT GOD. No, I know that very well. He has been so good to us and I know that in this important time HE won't fail us now. Thank you for your prayers for us. We know that this conference will be a success because of people like you praying for it. God be praised for ALL HE WILL DO!!
I am reminded of God's faithfulness yesterday and I know He'll be faithful today!
Well, I pray that you have a wonderful week ahead. We will be praying for you. Thank you for remembering us!
I will leave you with my favorite verse. Is. 26:3-4 " Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength." I don't know about you, but that is a real blessing to me, to know that we have a GOD in whom there is no shadow of turning. He will keep us in perfect peace no matter what happens. Thank you LORD!

Trusting in the Lord,
Christy

Thank God HE knows all about it!

I guess we've all been a little disappointed in the elections. I was kind of scared about it all a few days ago. But, the Lord reminded me that HE is in control, and all of this hasn't caught HIM by surprise. I was so thankful at that moment, that He brought that to mind. He is a Wonderful God and will see that His children are carefully watched. What a blessing to know that we are not alone in this! God give us grace to keep forging ahead, doing what's right, a midst all the evil that is around us.

I wanted you all to know that we will be having our first Missions Conference here at Old Paths Baptist Church, next week the 16th - 19th. We plan on having 4 Missionaries here to present their works, and the main speaker is Bro. Ronnie Starr. He and his wife have been missionaries in the Yukon for the past 25 years. We are very excited about it and would ask you to pray that God would really speak to hearts about missions. We all need refreshing on World Missions!

Well, I better go for now. May God Bless you all this week abundantly!

Christy

Me and Wisdom

Hello Everyone,

It's been awhile since I was able to write something. These past few days have been so hectic.
We had to take Hannah to the hospital earlier this week for a stomach pain she was having. It was just a virus, but she is still hurting some. Pray for her.

I was reading my Bible for devotions this morning and the Lord spoke to me about a verse in Proverbs 31 verse 26, " She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." I know I need alot of wisdom from the Lord and He says he will give it to us liberally if we ask. I pray that when I open my mouth there will be wisdom.
Praise the Lord for his goodness to us. Pray for the upcoming election too! This country needs revival like never before!

Have a wonderful Lord's Day tommorrow!

Serving Him who loves us,
Christy

Winterwonder Land!!!

Hi everyone,
It really turned winter here last night! We have a foot of new snow and it was -14 below! The sun is shining today though, so that's a nice thing.
I'm looking forward to the Holidays. The smells of baking and a warm fire bring a kind of comfort in this freezing weather!
As the Thanksgiving Season approaches, I am thankful for many things. My family, knowing that I'm saved and going to Heaven, spiritual blessings that the Lord gives us everyday, and many other things. What a wonderful Saviour we have! We just don't comprehend how GOOD HE is. Thank you Lord for all you are to me!
Psalm 103:1-2 " Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."
Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking of Heaven

I've been thinking alot about Heaven these days. About what it will be like and seeing loved ones who have already gone there.
We had a friend who passed away in the beginning of June.
She really struggled with a bout of cancer , but throughout her last days she knew that she would soon be seeing the Lord. Her Pastor and several friends and family stood around her bedside in her last moments. They all saw how sick she was and noticed her eyes, how yellow and sickly they lo0ked, but when she passed into Glory, her eyes popped open and they were so bright and clear and beautiful! She saw Heaven and the Lord,we are sure!
My Grandma, also passed away some time ago and my mom said that one day she was in the room with her and Grandma asked her if she heard someone singing, my mom said no she didn't.
I'm sure that she heard Heaven's choir singing! We can't even imagine what we'll see. I know one thing ,it will be more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
Our one comfort in this world, as it gets farther and farther away from God , is that someday we will go HOME and see Jesus! What a wonderful thought to think on. Lift up your heads for your redemption draweth nigh.

Thinking of Home,
Christy

Children are an heritage of the Lord

We just returned from Anchorage to bring our son Caleb to the airport. He is going back to Louisiana to get a job and live for awhile. We all miss him already!
While driving back home, I thought about how many times we take our children for granted. We get so busy in all the things around us that we often forget to tell them how much they mean to us. God gave me 7 beautiful children and each one is unigue and special. The Lord reminded me of how He is towards me. He never is too busy to spend time with me , and He's always lovingly steering me in the right direction. I often ask Him to make me a better mother, to remind me to see the little things in their lives and to take every opportunity to teach them of the Goodness of our Lord.
May I put aside the unimportant things and take time with my children, for too soon they'll be gone from my home, starting one of their own.

I'll write again soon,
Christy
